I'll admit it, I am a crazy, passionate foodie. I get SO excited about trying new recipes and figuring our simple, beautiful ways to nourish myself and my family deeply.
Since having my second baby, Ive been even more concious about my nutrition, and how I can create simple and FAST meals that are delicious, satiating, and nourishing.
One of my favorite things to do in my spare time is to google or pinterest international traditional and cultural recipes. This is such a brilliant way to discover easy, simple recipes using whole foods and to try your hand at something new.
In my search one day, I came across a recipe for Dukkah, a traditional middle eastern nut and spice blend. Usually a mix of sesame seeds and eastern spices like coriander and saffron, it is typically used as a bread + oil accompaniment, it is also added to grains, saucy dishes, and salads as well.
As I do, I recreated this recipe and took it a step further in providing HEALTHY FATS, fibre, and MEDICINAL HERB nourishment, using our Supergreen Sprinkles.
What I love about this recipe is that its super versatile. Change up the nuts, the seasoning, add a little this or that. Sprinkle it on top of avocado toast, onto your salads for a crunch, onto buddha bowls, pastas, WHATEVER. Its just so fricken good.
Here is how I made mine:
1 1/2 cups Hazelnuts (you can use any kind of nut though!)
1/2 cup Sunflower Seeds
1/4 cup Chia Seeds
1 tsp Heavy Nettle Supergreen Sprinkles
Directions: Lightly toast the nuts and seeds until fragrant. Blend in a blender or food processor until it is crumbly. See the pictures for reference.
Store in a mason jar, and sprinkle on top of all the things for a dose of crunchy nourishment!
