Why Vaginal Steaming?
Some of the traditional and anectdotal evidence of steaming suggests that regular vaginal steaming may help to reduce pain and bloating around menstruation, regulate the menstrual cycle, heal and tone reproductive organs post birth, reduce heavy bleeding (dysmenhorrea), increase fertility, and may help to reduce uterine fibroids, ovarian cysts, prolapse, or endometriosis.
How to Yoni Steam:
Prepare the herbs by first bringing water to a boil. While water is coming to a boil, prepare a medium sized heat safe glass or stainless steel bowl or pot with 1/4 cup of herbs.
If you have a yoni steaming stool, pour hot water over herbs and sit in a squatted position in the yoni steaming stool, using a large towel or blanket to keep the steam enclosed and to keep your body warm. If you do not have a yoni stool, you can steam easily using your clean toilet. Set the bowl of herbs inside the toilet bowl and pour in hot water. For best results, use a "squatty potty" so that knees are higher than the pelvis to imitate a squatting position. If steam is too hot, open legs to allow steam to escape. Steam for a minimum 15 minutes for optimal results.
